| Mayes brings a nice combination of physical play and athleticism to the corner position and while he doesn’t have the smoothest hips, he recovers well and does a nice job locating the ball to jar it away. He is a solid tackler, tackling through receivers instead of simply hitting them and has fairly good ball skills. He does have elite track speed and it shows up on film as he closes. Mayes should fit in nicely as a Cover 2 corner. |

| As a junior, Mayes made 40 tackles, intercepted five passes and recovered a fumble. He has been timed at 10.8 in the 100-meter dash and has been timed as fast as 4.38 in the 40-yard dash at the Elite College Combine.
