Quality big men are hard to come by this time of year. One that is still on the board is Carson Desrosiers. The 6’10 center/forward from Massachusetts spoke with DeaconSports last week at the NBA Top 100 camp.

Last weekend at the NBA Top 100 camp, Carson Desrosiers showed why so many Division I schools are after him. He showed good touch around the rim and range beyond the three point line. Desrosiers also looked to have good footwork and a high basketball I.Q.

DeaconSports: How has the AAU season gone so far as well as NBA camp?
Carson Desrosiers: “The AAU season so far has been pretty good. My team finished second at the Providence Jam Fest. We have been playing well and getting ready for Vegas and California to do some work there. Overall, this camp has been good. Obviously, like a lot of other camps, this one is guard oriented. I am just trying to do the little things like run the floor, block shots, and rebound.”

DeaconSports: Watching you play it looks like you can go inside and out. Is that your game?

Carson Desrosiers: “Definitely. I work with my AAU coach on my inside and outside game but mainly outside. In high school ball I play more inside but in AAU ball I work more on my 3 point shooting, ball handling and things like that.”

DeaconSports: Who has offered you at this point?
Carson Desrosiers: “Marquette, Purdue, Stanford, UNLV, Arizona State, Syracuse, Providence, Florida is looking but haven’t offered yet. Wake has offered as well and have been recruiting me for a little while. They came in a little late, actually just recently.”

DeaconSports:What are your thoughts on Wake? Are you interested in them?
Carson Desrosiers: “Yeah. As of right now I am open for anything. Like I said, they did come in a little late but they seem to be very interested. I may try to get out there in June for an unofficial and see what happens.”

DeaconSports: Does Wake coming in a little later than others hurt their chances?
Carson Desrosiers: “I will consider them the same as the other schools. In terms of having a relationship with the staff, I have talked to some of the other coaches recruiting me for over a year now. We are still building a relationship.”
