Although Matt Gorski is only a sophomore at Cosby High School, the 6'11 center is already getting plenty of attention from Division I schools. DeaconSports spoke with Gorski about his recruitment and his interest in Wake Forest.

Matt Gorski is a skilled 6'11 center prospect from Midlothian, Virginia. Gorski and his teammates at Cosby High School are off to a decent start this season, just his second at the high school level.

"We are 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the district," said Gorski. "We are playing hard as a team and improving daily."

Speaking of improving, Gorski has shown improvement every time he has hit the court with his main goal being to help his team win. "I just do what I can to help my team. I am getting a lot of second chance points on offense and playing hard on defense. My offensive game is coming around and I think I am doing a good job helping our young team come together." Gorski is working on many facets of his game this season. "I am trying to get my post moves down. I want them to be second nature. I also am working to expand my range beyond the three point line. Also, I want to improve my help side defense."

Although Gorski is just a sophomore, he is getting a lot of interest from Division 1 schools. "I am hearing from Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Virginia, VCU, JMU, Georgetown, Maryland, and Indiana. Also, Carolina watched a practice recently. I am very lucky and blessed to be getting interest from these schools. I just want to keep working hard and hope it works out."

Gorski also admitted that three teams on his list stick out at this point. "Right now, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and Virginia are at the top. I just want to go somewhere that I can get a great education and further my game. I would also like to go somewhere and play for 4 years."

Gorski already has a nice skill set. "I feel real comfortable around the basket. I have a good jump hook with either hand and my mid range game is coming along. I also feel good about my 1-on-1 defense and my ability to block or alter shots."

With his combination of basketball skill and high academics, Gorski is projecting to be a legit high major prospect. With his consistent improvement and willingness to work hard, look for big things from Matt Gorski.
