Quan Rucker is one of the most coveted recruits in North Carolina and for good reason. With his combination of speed, quickness, and soft hands, Rucker was able to snag 52 catches for almost 700 yards and 5 touchdowns last season. His approach to the game is simple, "I just go out there and play hard and have fun."
A host of high major programs have taken notice of Rucker who is now up to eight scholarship offers. "Recruiting is going real well right now and I am enjoying it. I have offers from Wake, Illinois, Clemson, Maryland, N.C. State, Virginia, South Carolina, and East Carolina."
When asked about wake, Rucker had plenty of good things to say. "Wake has always been one of my favorite schools since I was a kid," he said. "The education at Wake is great and the coaching staff is very easy to talk with and they are fun to be around, which is not always the case with other schools. The coaches are always very respectful to me and my family. They always ask how school is going and how my family is doing. They really care about me as a person and not just a football player."
Rucker made the short trip to Winston-Salem last month and had a chance to speak with the coaches. "I visited Wake in April and was able to watch a spring practice. I also got the chance to sit in on a receivers meeting and I watched them in practice. I am actually going back to visit Wake on Monday which I am looking forward to."
As far as a decision goes, Rucker just wants to make sure he makes a good choice. "I am taking my time and just making sure I am going to make the right decision. I don't want to rush anything and regret it later." At this point, Rucker stated his favorites were Wake, Virginia, and Illinois.
