Love Still High on Wake

Jordan Love

Jordan Love is quickly becoming one of the most sought after defensive backs on the east coast. The 6', 185 pound rising senior has seen his recruitment take off recently. DeaconSports.com caught up with Love to see how his off season is going and where he is at with his recruitment.

Jordan Love has received recent offers from Tennessee and Penn State as well as having a long standing offer from Wake Forest. Many people may think since the larger state universities have started calling that Wake Forest may have dropped a bit on Love's list, but according to Love that is certainly not the case.

"Wake Forest is still way up there on my list even though I have other offers," he noted. When asked if a schools size and tradition will make a difference to him, Love responded, "I feel like if you like a school and that is where your heart is then that is the place for you and that is what matters."

When asked what he liked about Wake, Love had a lot to say. "The coaches at Wake are great. They tell you like it is and treat you like family. Some schools call and ask you when you are going to commit and things like that but the Wake coaches always ask how school is going and how my family and I are doing. They are like a big family at Wake and if I end up going there I think it would be like a second home. I would always have someone there I can talk to and relate to."

A couple of the players Love may be able to relate to at Wake are Joey Ehrmann, a 2008 Wake Forest football commit who is currently in school with Love, and Michael Campanaro a 2009 target. "Michael and I are very good friends. I actually played rec ball with Michael up through 8th grade then we went to different high schools. He still only lives about 15 minutes up the street and we still talk a lot. We have talked about playing college ball together and how it would be cool to get an apartment together and those types of things. I think it would be great to play football with Mike again."

"I see Joey everyday at school. He is always telling me how much he wants me to come to Wake and how well I would fit in there. The thing about Joey is he is a great football player and a even better person."

Love want to a have a decision made sometime this spring or summer and he knows what will be important to him when that time comes. "I think it is going to come down to the coaching staff and where I feel the best place for me is. Where ever my heart tells me. I want to have a decision made before school starts so I can have the pressure off my shoulders and I can enjoy my senior season."

Love will be playing his senior season at Deep Run High School in Richmond, Virginia. "The move was a family decision. My mom had a better job offer in Richmond and the move was best for our family."

Which ever school is lucky enough to land Love will be getting a top notch person as well as a super football player. He is the type of student athlete that any school would love to have. But no matter what happens, look for Love to follow his heart and be successful both on and off the gridiron.
