David Sims is coming off a spectacular junior season in which he had a huge impact on both sides of the ball. Sims threw for 1800 yards and 17 touchdowns, ran for 800 yards and 13 touchdowns, and had five interceptions on defense. Oh by the way, he took two of those picks to the house. With numbers like those, it is no wonder that Sims is getting a lot of attention and junior day invites.
"I have been real busy lately," said Sims. "I have been to Wake Forest and South Carolina for their junior days and I am going to Tennessee on March 2nd." When asked about his trip to Wake Sims responded that "It was great. I love the small school atmosphere. It reminds me of my high school. Also I really like the coaches. They are all real cool."
Sims also had an interesting take on how the Wake Forest coaches decide on who to offer. "I like the fact that the coaches are very meticulous. They just don't hand out offer to anyone."
As far as offers are concerned, Sims has offers from South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina, and Wake Forest. "I actually just received my first hand written letter from Wake and that was cool," said Sims.
Many people think that Sims is destined to stay in the state of South Carolina to play his college ball but that may not be the case. "Location is not going to play a big factor. I just want to go somewhere that I feel comfortable."
Sims claims no favorites at this time and has no timetable as to when he will make a commitment. Sims also stated that most of the schools that have offered want him to play in the secondary. With his combination of athletic ability and explosiveness, look for big things from Sims this season.
