Grobe Staying at Wake Forest

Wake Forest head football coach Jim Grobe will stay at the University, sources confirmed Thursday morning. (9:45am EST)

According to sources at Arkansas and Wake Forest, Demon Deacon head coach Jim Grobe will remain at Wake Forest. (9:45am EST)

Later Thursday morning, Wake Forest athletic director Ron Wellman confirmed these reports with various media outlets.

Coach Grobe was offered the head coaching position for the Razorbacks program and initial reports from several media outlets was that Grobe had accepted the position at Arkansas. Thursday morning, however, Coach Grobe called representatives from Arkansas to turn down the offer.

Grobe, in his seventh season at Wake Forest, has has compiled a 45-39 record at Wake Forest and took the Demon Deacons to an Orange Bowl appearance last season as Wake’s head coach.
