Elton Ford received good news recently when he learned that NC State was offering him a scholarship. The offer propelled the Wolfpack to the top of his list, but don't count out Wake Forest just yet.
The 6-foot-0, 200 pound safety from Lithonia, Georgia said NC State is his leader, but that might not be the case if Wake Forest offers him down the road.
"I actually talked to Wake a couple of days ago," Ford said. "They basically told me that they would have offered me and that they want to, but they thought my test scores were a little low. I'm taking it in December so if I do well then they might offer me."
An offer from Wake Forest would certainly change Ford's recruiting picture. "I think [it would change it,]" he said. "Wake Forest is definitely a school I would consider. Their quarterbacks coach has been recruiting me and they've got a good team. It's a good school too."
In addition to NC State, Middle Tennessee has offered Ford a scholarship. He also noted that an offer from Louisville may be on the horizon.
Ford believes that each of those schools sees that he's an aggressive football player. "I've just got a nose for the football," he explained. "I'm an aggressive playmaker. I've already got 60 tackles and two interceptions, so I lead the team in both. I'm good against the run and against the pass."
