Athletics Director Ron Wellman has called a Wednesday morning press conference to announce the new head coach of the Wake Forest basketball program. Wellman is expected to announce that Dino Gaudio, a 17-year assistant to former coach Skip Prosser, will take the helm of the Wake Forest program.
If named head coach at Wake Forest, this will be Gaudio's third stint as a head coach at the collegiate level. Previously, Gaudio was a head coach at Army as well as Loyola (MD) College.
Gaudio, a native of Martins Ferry, Ohio, has spent the past six seasons as an associate head coach at Wake Forest. He will continue to be joined on his staff by current assistants Jeff Battle and Pat Kelsey.
