"Wake Forest is my leader right now," said Williams, who hails from Westover High School in Fayetteville, N.C. "There are some others that I'm looking at, but they're the top school right now. I love their coaching staff. I have a real good relationship with Coach Hood (defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach). I went and had dinner with his family and we got pretty tight. I get letters from Wake all the time, and it's good to know they want me so bad."
Williams has offers from Wake Forest, Duke and most recently, Virginia. He camped at North Carolina not long ago.
"It was alright," said Williams. "I'd say it went pretty well, but it was nothing spectacular. I wasn't blown away or anything. I am supposed to camp at Virginia Tech on July 14, and I think I'll do that. That's a school I would be interested in. I like their winning tradition."
Most coaches are recruiting Williams to play safety, including Wake Forest, but he said he would prefer to play corner. He did say that would not be a decisive factor in his decision, but it was merely a personal preference that he could put aside. Williams' best asset as a defensive back is his coverage skills, and he looks like a natural on the field.
Williams said he plans on making his decision after his senior season.
