Heading into this past weekend, Andrew Parker held three D-I offers. South Florida, Central Florida, and Ole Miss had offered Parker prior to his visit to Winston-Salem for Wake Forest’s senior camp this past weekend. After an impressive performance at camp, Parker earned an offer from Wake Forest to add to his collection.
“After the camp, [Coach Elrod] told me that he can’t offer that day because of NCAA rules, but he’d call tomorrow. He called me actually yesterday about 3:00 and was telling me that they want to offer me a scholarship and talked about the depth chart.”
“I felt excited,” Parker noted. “This was the one I wanted to get. I really like Wake Forest.
“I love the campus,” he continued. “I like that it was together and not spread out. I love the weather. I love all the coaches. They’re great people. An offensive tackle [Jeff Griffin] plays for them and went to my school so he showed me around a little bit.”
With an offer from Wake Forest, the 6’4 ¾, 225-pound tight end expects to decide in the near future. “I think I might do it soon, pretty soon,” Parker said.
When decision time comes, several factors will play into Parker’s final decision. “It’s definitely academics, but also playing time and depth chart play a big role in it. So do coaches, they have to have really good coaches.”
