In recent weeks, local and national media outlets have reported on a rumor that Wake Forest head basketball coach Skip Prosser may be looking towards taking a job at the University of Cincinnati at the end of this year. Monday, DeaconSports learned differently.
Through two reliable sources close to the situation, DeaconSports has learned that Wake Forest University head basketball coach Skip Prosser has not been in touch with the University of Cincinnati concerning their head coaching position. Though reports have come out on the contrary pinning Prosser to the job at Cincinnati, neither Prosser nor any representatives of Coach Prosser have contacted Cincinnati officials regarding this position, a position once occupied by Coach Bob Huggins.
Though rumors of his departure from the Wake Forest program have run rampant, Coach Prosser has not denied interest in the position at Cincinnati or other coaching positions in which he has been rumored to be in the mix of candidates. This is in accordance to his longstanding policy in which Prosser will not comment on rumors pinning him to other coaching positions.
Though national media has begun speculating on his future, Prosser, who coached at Xavier in Cincinnati prior to arriving in Winston-Salem, is expected to adhere to his policy not to comment on other coaching opportunities.
