Sandy Creek (GA) offensive lineman Andrew Gardner visited Wake Forest this past weekend on an official visit. DeaconSports caught up with Gardner shortly after his return to get the latest on Peach State lineman.

“It went good,” Andrew Gardner said of his visit to Wake Forest. “I liked it. It’s real nice. It’s small and everyone seemed friendly.”

Gardner, who is currently around 6’6, 250, arrived Friday afternoon around 4:00 at Wake. “On that Friday, they fed us and we hung out with the players on Friday and Saturday nights,” he said. “They took us to a game on Saturday, a basketball game, and they gave us a tour and we talked to some professors and stuff.”

Gardner was also able to sit down and speak to the coaching staff at Wake. “I got to talk to the coaches a good bit,” he said. “I got a good feel for them – a good impression.”

While Wake Forest is very much in the picture, Gardner has several other schools on his list at this point. “I’m also talking to Duke University and Furman University and talking to Georgia Tech,” he said. Gardner, who has not set sure dates for officials to other schools, has offers from Wake Forest, Duke, Furman, and Navy.
