Head Coach Jim Grobe
On the offense's lack of effectiveness: "We were really sporadic today on offense. We were very limited with what we could do. Play in and play out, we were not very consistent."

On the failed fourth down attempt late in the fourth quarter:
"We feel that the zone handoff is our best play. If they can stop us from getting one yard then they deserve to win the game."

On the Wake Forest effort:
"I think we gave our best effort, but we did not play our best. The first week the guys exceeded my expectations, but this is what you can expect from a young team."

"We certainly made too many mistakes to win today, but we have to give Purdue a lot of credit. This is a veteran team and a very good team."

Offensive Lineman Tyson Clabo:
On the failed fourth down attempt late in the fourth quarter:
"As a offensive lineman, I wanted to run the ball on fourth and one. We had five people blocking and they had eight people blitzing. We can't block the whole team."

On postgame team reaction:
"There was nothing to say after the game. We took showers and people went to see their families. We have to come next week and play hard or we will be beaten again."

Defensive Back Marcus McGruder
About national rankings:
"We went and practiced hard this week, obviously we were excited about our rankings. Purdue came with a good game plan and they kept our defense off-balance."

On the underdog label:
"We feel that we don't get any respect, and we're out to prove this isn't the old Wake Forest. Every game is going to be a hard fought battle because that is the way we play."
