Collier impressed with WFU visit

Early this month DeaconSports reported that QB Stephen Collier would be visiting Wake Forest. He went through with that trip and now Wake has a better chance to land him than ever. Last week Collier was on the road a lot visiting schools like Auburn, Wake Forest, Marshall, Cincinnati and Ohio State, and Collier said he may try to visit some other schools before the end of June.

A summer decision is what he's aiming for so each visit counts. The Deacons made the most of theirs.

"Wake Forest was awesome. They really surprised me as far as what they brought to the table. I didn't know much about Wake prior to the visit but it was good to meet with the coaches and finally see the place.

"It's a small school but they know what they're doing and they really surprised me. They have a great offense and Coach Elrod is a great guy. I enjoyed spending the day with him. We sat down and talked about the offense for quite a bit. We watched some film. They definitely think I could be a different maker on the offensive side of the ball for them."

Jim Grobe is the one person Collier would have liked to speak with that he didn't get a chance to. That wasn't through anyone's fault, it was just a matter of scheduling.

"He was out of town but he spoke on the phone. He had my family on a little teleconference and talked to us like that," Collier said.
