Wake Forest landed a big prospect from New England when Brendan O'Neil, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound tight end from Buckingham Browne & Nichols (BB&N) School in Cambridge, Mass. gave his verbal pledge to his recruiter and future position coach, Steed Lobotzke. O'Neil chose Wake Forest with other coming from offers from Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Temple.

"There are so many things that sold me on Wake Forest," said Brendan O'Neil. "The biggest thing is their academic reputation is incredible. I'm from Massachusetts, and I know what a great school Wake Forest is. They're in a great conference, the ACC.
