Deacs offer Ohio TE
Posted Apr 11, 2012

It's not easy beating out Big Ten schools for the top talent in the Midwest but the only way to win those recruits is to try your hand. Wake Forest became one of the most recent schools to offer Greg Hart not too long ago.

The 6-5, 225-pound tight end from Kettering (Ohio) Archbishop Alter was on his way to Ohio State when he learned that Wake Forest had offered him a scholarship.

"I've just spoken with them once or twice but Coach Knorr has shown me a lot of hospitality," Hart told DeaconSports.

"We talked for probably a half hour so I feel like I've known him forever," he said, laughing. "He's a great guy. Wake Forest is definitely a program that's headed in the right direction. They've definitely got a great academic reputation and I'm looking forward to learning more about them."

The fact that Hart recognizes Wake's academic reputation could be big for the Deacs' chances. That's something that is important to the Buckeye State recruit. "I'm really looking for a school with great academics," Hart said.

"Obviously my goal is the play in the NFL just like any other kid but I want a great degree, something to fall back on. A great academic reputation is going to be really important to me. I'd like to find a school where it's actually fun to play and a school that's heading in the right direction.

"I want to feel like we're going to win a lot of games in the future."
