Jonathan McLaughlin talks timeline

Jonathan McLaughlin is one of the top offensive linemen in his home state of South Carolina. The Mauldin High School standout firmed up his timeline after previously wavering on when he'd make a commitment.

"Right now it's Wake Forest, ECU and Marshall," the 6-5, 280-pound athlete said of who's impressing him the most. "They all keep in contact about the same. They contact me every week."

McLaughlin discussed his timeline for a decision.

"I'm planning on going to ECU Saturday, and then make my way up to Marshall," he said. "I've talked to the Kentucky coaches, and also Vanderbilt. I think I'm going to try and fit those into the schedule too, but if not I'll go ahead and make my commitment after I visit the schools. I want to go ahead and get it over with."

McLaughlin described a recent game that caught his attention.

"Actually ECU surprised me a lot," he said. "They recruit me hard, but the way they played Saturday vs. South Carolina was impressive. I was trying to make it to the game, but I couldn't get there so I tuned in."

McLaughlin has started a strong final season with a 2-0 record.

"It's going pretty good, but we've got a tough team this week so hopefully it'll go well," he said.
