“It feels great to be a Demon Deacon”, said Andre Wiggins. “I am really excited but also relieved to get my college decision off my shoulders.”
Wiggins played safety this season for Madison but indicated the Wake Forest coaches like him as an outside linebacker.
“I will be playing outside linebacker at Wake which I think is my more natural position. I played outside linebacker my whole life until the last two seasons. I am really comfortable playing linebacker.”
Wiggins had a top 2 of Wake Forest and Texas A&M before chosing the Demon Deacons. It was the atmosphere at Wake Forest that pushed him towards WFU.
“I really felt at home at Wake. From the coaches to the players everyone there was very tight. They also took the time to show me a lot of personal attention. I just felt like Wake was home.”
When asked what he will bring to the table for the Demon Deacons, Wiggins responded “I play fearless, fast, and strong.”
